stocking 75gal

as i'm starting to get equipment together for my return to reefing, wanted to check for recommendations for fish.

Previously i kept nano tanks, and at most i had a clownfish and a sixline wrasse (i got lucky and he was a fine citizen when i had him).

I wanted to do it right this time, and I know technically, should put more peaceful fish first, so they establish then the more territorial ones?

Here's what i had in mind so far:
Fish:
pair clownfish
Baggai Cardinal
Royal Gramma
Firefish
Bristletooth Tang
Watchman Goby
Yellow Coris Wrasse
Mandarin Goby (once tank more mature and has pods)

Invert:
Some kind of cleaner shrimp, likely coral banded?

any recommendations for order to add, removal, additions, changes?

the tank is 3feet by 2 feet, so i know tomini tang is probably pushing it a little bit, kole tang is also a possibility? but definitely not yellow tang, hippo tang, or the other ones that require much more swimming room.

While others may disagree, I think the tomini will be fine in a 75g. Another related question is what is the best order to add these fish. Good luck in your adventure!

I would add the tomini tang towards the end. Mines kinda of an butt but he just pesters others. He doesn't attack anyone otherwise great for alage control.

I have a tomini in a 48” 75g tank. He was one of the last fish added, doesn’t bother anyone, and doesn’t eat algae lol. First to hide when you approach the tank. From a distance I see him out all day exploring and picking at nori on a clip. Zero aggression to anyone. Just super shy when a person approaches

I would add fairy wrasse and tang last. Fairy wrasse differ a ton based on which one. Why filefish? Not that reef safe. With any wrasse you have a little risk with inverts. I would recommend a yellow coris wrasses though for color and pests. Clowns towards the end as well.

Not married to the idea of filefish. Just thought they look unique. I figured wrasse anything that can fit in its mouth is fair game. What would you recommend with yellow Cori’s. Are there a ton of interspecies aggression? I’ve only kept a six line previously.

Bright yellow, one of the better pets eaters, don't get huge, and not usually aggressive. They are just actively cruising around looking for bugs to eat.

Filefish aren't usually reef safe, people keep them for aptasia

What about coral beauties? I heard for the most part they are reef safe

Hit and miss, lps, zoa, clams, could all be risky. I personally would pick a flame over the coral beauty for looks.

Maybe I can add firefish to the mix. I’d like two different wrasses, is there any reason I can’t pair a fairy wrasse with a yellow?

You can have 1 of each type theoretically.

Melenaris might beat up your coris because it's the same genus. I had a very similar stock list in my 75. Should work well. You could add a peaceful fairy wrasse or leopard once pods are very established.

I’m not a big fan of a Tang in those dimensions, IMO. Maybe consider something like a pair of Flameback, Multicolor or Cherub Angels as your “centerpiece.” Otherwise the list looks good IMO. As for Wrasses I’ll leave it to the Wrasse folks here although the Canary (Yellow “Coris”) is a consistently good choice.
