I have my 55g up and I am trying to get a good stocking list together. So far the only Must have for me is a pair of clown fish and I would really like some type of eel. My main issue is trying to find fish that are swimmers. I am trying to get a good amount of swimmers in it even though it only a 55g. It will be a reef tank so they must be reef.

My Idea list so far.
  • Pair of Clowns
  • Stripped Wrasse
  • Mandarin (Once I get all my Pods up)

Possibly a Dawf Flame Angel and Kole Tang.

I love the Royal Gramma! The Long Nose Hawk is pretty nice as well! I have to look into one of them. Anything on different types of Anthias?

When you say striped wrasse, which species are you referring? There are a few that can compete for pods with the mandarin.

I agree that the tank is too small for a kole tang.

A group of zebra or scissortail dartfish are outgoing swimmers.

Look into Ledidozygous tapeinasoma(spelling may be a little off). It is called a fusilier damsel. It is a social, hardy outgoing fish.

Fusilier damsels. A trio. They have had several lately, I have been so close to pulling the trigger
