Last night I received an error on my trident that reagent was empty. So I filled all 3, and primed them all. When this mornings reading took place, my Ca dropped from 433 on 11/27 to 374 on 11/28, and MG went from 1348 on 11/27 to 1640 on 11/28.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Im about to run a manual check with my Hanna to see what I get, but besides it being a possible reagent mixup, im. To sure what it could be.

I use the ABC reagents and mixed up a gallon of each so this new batch is just a continuation of the last batch that I used a month or so back when I last filled the trident.

I guess I am just overdue to perform a calibration on the trident.

Just weird that it was overnight after filling up the reagents that I got such a huge swing. Ive never had that happen before.

Is there a “missed dose” setting on trident where it doses all the missed doses at once? If your reservoir ran out it may have missed a few, although i would expect it would take a reading before dosing.

Im not super knowledgeable on trident but ive made this mistake on my red sea dosing system.

What im most interested in here is how wildly different your Hannah readings are from trident and salifert. I would love to hear from everyone if this is normal behavior and what should be believed? I know hannah does sell calibration kits for each photometer.

For ca and mg, I trust the salifert a little more. ESP the Ca. Hanna Ca test is notoriously difficult to get a reading. It took me a few tries

I went back to the official neptune reagents after trying ABC. My results were just all over the place when I tried it.

I also calibrated to my test kits not the calibration fluid. Particularly the Hanna Alk and double checked with salifert. Ca and Mg is less of an issue and not as concerned as long as they were 400-450 Ca and 1400+ Mg

And no missed doses setting that I’m aware of. This was the 1st time it’s had this big of a swing after refilling.
