I've pretty much let my tank run itself in the last couple of years and mint and texas trash palys have taken over almost all of my rock. It pretty much encroaches anything I try to put in there and kills it. I know this stuff is dangerous (personal experience) if you try to remove a lot of it at a time and it becomes airborne so...

Is there a way to either kill of palys or make my water parameters less enjoyable to them? I have a low amount of nitrates in the water and all else is good. I'm just running IO and not dosing anything so the alk and calcium are lower than sps would like.

Would a higher alk and calcium hinder these devils?

The fish are my first priority, but I'd like to start adding some other corals and have them thrive.

Any other suggestions other than replacing the infested rock with bare rock?

Thanks for any replies,
Tom

I got nothing. I use aptasia x kalk paste vinegar etc to keep the Pop under controll
But I had to toss a rock in the yard to kill a colony.
After it survived 6 months in my sump
