Just noticed this today. Behavior is normal and she is eating well. Any idea what it could be and if it’s serious?

do you have a blenny in the tank? my powder blue tang and purple tang has something like that but it's usually from my blenny biting them.

Yes I do. They get into it here and there but it’s gotten better with time. You think it’s a bite from the blenny?

That does look like trauma caused by either a fish or rock work. Keep an eye for any changes to the area, especially if it starts turning bright red, but most of these usually resolve pretty quickly.

Ok ill keep an eye on it. If any signs of infection come up will a treatment in general cure be good?

API General Cure does have metronidzole which is a broad spectrum antibiotic, so you could use that. My personal preference for a known bacterial infection is just use antibiotics, as the praziquantel in GC can be an appetite suppressant.

Ok now I’m less anxious that there’s some kind of outbreak in my tank lol
Thanks!
