Hi All,

I have a red sea 170 with skimmer and reefmat running. I am running carbon in the sump with Maxpect Bio blocks.

On two occasions now in three months,i have this strange slime build up in the bottom of the reefmat. I have a similar build up in baffle between main part of the sump and return section.

Also when i turn off my return pump and turn it back on i get alot of white debris entering my tank. Any idea what this could be

I have the same problem in my tank. In my case it is mostly white when there is enough light and water movement; but bronw in the AIO sump.

I found this: https://www.floridareeflabs.com/pos...This white slime/mucus is,no one thinks about

But doesnt make much sense since my aquarium is in a room well ventilated.

Looking in the forum there is people who solved their problem with 2 products:
- Waste Away DrTim´s Aquatics
- Re-Fresh Dr Tim´s Aquatics

It might be related to carbon dosing.
