Strawberry shortcake coloring issues

Ill start by saying im no pro at sticks but im able to color up some browner pieces. Ive had this shortcake for months now and it lost all its color from a phosphate swing. Within the same time ive had a cherry pie go from bright to brown to bright again but this piece won't budge. No matter the spot or flow/light it won't color up except at the tips which seem to have regained pink. Not sure where or what forum said it but ive heard many struggle with the shortcake. Anyone have advice

Tanks a 20g fusion with 1.7k gph flow circulating
Lighting: radion gen 4 zr15 at 80% (ramped up from 40 and it hasn't cooked any corals) along with a stock IM white blue light and 1 purple plus t5 bulb

As long as the new growth is colored up again, it should be fine. The original body that lost its' color sometimes won't regain color. There isn't much you can do except what you are doing...keeping everything stable and within the correct ranges.

I suspect available PAR is very low for this coral

As long as the new growth is colored up again, it should be fine. The original body that lost its'lor sometimes won't regain color. There isn't much you can do except what you are doing...keeping everything stable and within the correct ranges.
Its so weird to see reds before greens. Im not sure where I read it but I heard some people have problems coloring up shortcake because of available iron levels
I suspect available PAR is very low for this coral
Its directly under dead center a radion at 80%, I checked at 60% and the par was 245. Gonna rent a par meter soon

Mine did not like low po4 #'s of <.1. It ran for several months with no color like yours with po4 always below .1.
No3<5 po4<.1 were what I was running. I let po4 get to .2 and then adjusted down to
.1. Range is .1-.2 now.
No3 was at 25, I took my sulfer reactor offline with no3 always <5. and now 15 with vodka dosing to keep it between 10-20 and down from 25. The shortcake colored up when po4 was kept above .1.
Mine gets around 300 par.

This is mine at a po4 of about .06. I think stability is more important than actual numbers as long as you have "some" available nutrients. Mine also gets around 300 par.

I wanna rebump this thread for a question about lighting. Could it be possible that the coral is receiving too much light and therefore only coloring up in the shadows?

I wanna rebump this thread for a question about lighting. Could it be possible that the coral is receiving too much light and therefore only coloring up in the shadows?
Yup,it’s red so you lack the green so you could be quite correct. Too much light can bleach out the green.

Likes ULNS and virtually undetected phosphates at say most 0.05ppm, and fast flow but varied.

I’d move it to a lower PAR position.

Its starting to green in the more shaded areas but not in the high light so that was my thought. The weird thing is everything else was okay. Would only the green get taken out in high light? I thought about moving it before but its just starting to get some green within the last month

Just moved it to the bottom quarter of my tank. The green is much more apparent in the shaded areas. Any advice on how to keep the reds now?
