Stupid question about heaters

Are they completely submersible? Primarily referring to the Jagrs and the BRS titaniums.
The reason I ask is that most heaters are pretty long, but the depth of most sumps are relatively shallow.

Yes, they should be fully submersible. I orient mine horizontally in the sump so depth isn't an issue.

Eheim Jagger heaters are safe fully submersible.
I have 2 in my sump and one in my mixing station that are continuously under water.

Jagrs are.
There is a min. water level on mine.
Or at least mine which are out of service.
Is that an issue?

Titanium heaters are submersible. According to this link, the jagr are submersible.

You just need to make sure the internal thermostat on the heater is submerged, otherwise it will be reading the air temp,and could cause issues if it's trying to heat 24/7, depending on the size of heater vs tank size.

As good as any IMM, but must be on a controller for safety.
Some of the newer digital heaters have multiple safety’s built in.
Combine that with a controller and never fry your friends.
I use the 306 dual probe wifi as it alerts my phone about problems and keeps daily charts with new temps every 15 minutes.

I think I have a Fluval heater, but I threw it in the filter sock area of my tank, and it stayed submerged in the water. Never had any issues with it

And it states that there heaters are to be vertical.
