Picked this guy up this weekend. I think its a stylocoeniella species. Nice purple base with orange polyps. Dont see this coral around too much. If they come in other great colors like this i would love to find some more! Anyone have pics of this coral?

I have a lil hitch hicker that came out of Indo on a lil chalice that has those same polyps,I didnt think much more of it other than like a lil montipora thingy. The polyps on it are green though with a brown/pink base. Ill try and snap some shots if its still alive, it might have got burried in some sand...

One thing i noticed is that it will have little spikes come up out of it between the polyps

Looks like a Stylo to me as well. I have a piece that's all green. Brightest green in my tank. I'll have to dig up a picture. They are very rare. Picked mine up from a local reefer here (SPSPirate). Haven't seen another one until now. Nice score!

Sweet find!

Bump for an old thread. I have a small frag of this. I'm just now figuring out my "superman stylo" it isn't stylophora. :)

Any updates or growth shots?

I have three different ones; superman, sunset, and a red one.

Medium flow, medium-low light.

Do they grow for you? Are they just encrusting corals or do they branch any? I found a couple different species online and I don't know which mine is.

I haven't really got them to grow much yet, but have figured out they're sensitive to too much light. They're holding color well, at least.
I haven't dug through Corals of the World much on them; I assumed they'd all be encrusting. Interesting...

Mine doesn't seem to like light much either. I moved it down recently. Hasn't grown any worth mentioning.

Pretty sure I have a stylo as well, perfectly matches your green one stylaster. Just posted a thread yesterday asking for an ID. Also pretty sure I have it in the completely wrong spot.
