Was wondering who has had success keeping a yellow clown goby and what you’ve done to keep them alive or what characteristics you looked for when purchasing.

I can’t seem to keep any of mine alive and have been really wanting to find success with this fish.

Thanks

Masstick on dead coral skeletons when you feed normal food will keep them learn to eat. Clown gobies feed on sps polyps so getting them to eat well is usually what's missing. Fwiw, the lfs owner I respect and have been going to for the past 20 years says they should stay on the reef, along with cleaner wrasses. I tend to agree, but I wish you luck, it's a beautiful fish.

Mine always comes out and grabs Arcti-Pods, it never seems interested in anything else I’ve tried feeding (chopped mysis, flake, pellets, ROE). He likes to grab little bits when it gets blown apart by a powerhead/return. I also see him dart around against the glass, not sure if he’s chasing pods or his reflection though. I’ve only had him a couple months but he looks plump so I think he’s doing well.
