Well so far so good successfully transferred from red sea 250 to 425xl only one death little fire goby jumped out of the container we had him in when we noticed it was too late other than that corals are opening up and fishes are eating and now thats left is too organize cables then add the doors just waiting on chiller to come in and I'll be all set

I am doing an upgrade next month... 75 gallon to 180 gallon. How long did your fish stay in buckets? How long did your fish stay in buckets before they were added to new tank? How did you avoid the new water not being super cloudy from the sand?

I always set up new tanks in new spots before... I never had to move and replace a tank. arghhh I am doing this for my fish.. blue tang and yellow tang.. if they die in the transfer I could have stayed in a 75 gallon tank...

thanks!

Well first what I did was I did a water change and saved that water had it in a plastic bin with a pump running so about a week and a half Later i prebuilt my stand first so it wouldn't take that long and I had pretty much everything setup so all i had to do was add on quickly when it was time to do everything i emptied out the water in a few containers added coral and water to one container and the fish and water to other container left the sand in there so then I grabbed the old sand with a scooper laid it in my new tank then I pre rinsed my new sand the day before with tap water till it was clear then used r.o.d.i water after wards to finish rinsing make sure to get all the tap water out then I gradually added the water to the tank about half way then started the aquascape finished then added the rest I added the other sump water to the new sump then the 20 gallons I saved the rest was new water I saved my old socks and filters make sure you put something over so the fish don't jump out your containers I lost one goby like that and make sure you have a pump running in the containers everything made it and everything is stable you might have to save more water since it's a bigger upgrade
