Because we generally provide far less suitable particular food for corals, so we make up for that lack in other ways.
Yes, I believe that is the generally accepted rationale and maybe I disagree with both the possibility and the ability to provide the optimum amount of particular foods for corals. I think it would be nearly impossible to equal the amount and duration of particular food available for corals in the wild. However imo the available vs optimal amount of particular foods is vastly different.
