I am not seeing much out there to DIY or purchase.

I am planning on a 10gal sump with one drain line.

This is a small system so I was thinking a flexible hose from home depot.
Does this need to attach to the sump or just hang in the filter sock?

The sock holders seem rather generic without a tube holder.

Am I over thinking?

Something like this into a sock

If your on a budget or like working on DYI projects, some egg-crate & zip ties can do the trick. Build a box shaped chamber with the egg-crate, same size as the sock so the sock fits nice & snug inside the box, tying each side with zip ties & voila, you have a holder. I would hard plumb the drain & use threaded unions to make the removal & rinsing of the sock a much easier job. Hope its clear & helpful.
