Wife doesn’t like the way these smatfarm lights are mounted, and I don’t really blame her tbh. I myself am not a fan of the smatfarm stock mounts. Specifically she doesn’t like how high up the lights are mounted. She wants to hang pictures behind the tank and feels as if the lights will take away from people looking at the pictures. Any suggestions on a low profile kinda mount that I can DIY? I was thinking maybe a piece of conduit pipe that I could bend as one solid piece to go across and hard mount the lights to? Any other ideas? Apologies for the dark picture. Kiddo is about to fall asleep and I’ll snap a brighter pic later

:astonished-face:First let's put the joke out there. If you have pictures over your tank and someone is looking at them instead of the tank you have a problem!
Joke aside, I had some custom made ones with 80/20 aluminum and you can keep the profile low if you want. Feel free to check my build thread towards the end. Maybe gives you some DIY ideas

Take the light brackets off and hang the lights from the ceiling. They’ll look a whole lot better. Pretty easy to do and it’s cheaper than actually using the mounting arms

THATS WHAT I SAID! She’s a goober. I just honestly don’t think she likes the wall being bare behind it

Tried suggesting that. Got the mounts and everything for them to go on the ceiling but for some reason she won’t go for that.

Personally I don't like that either lol, they are hanging pretty far out and I would be scared of the glass breaking.

Personally I would hang the lights from the ceiling. But if not, there are racks you can buy that sit on the tank frame. I did try this once, but it was so bulky and ugly, if you do this, maybe your wife will agree that hanging is better. Something like this:
