Sump build

I'm looking for advice on my sump. This is the set up I had for Freshwater, day 1 as you can see clean as a whistle. I am looking for help with baffle decisions.
My options I have been tossing around:
Fiji sump baffle kit - $130 Roughly
Ordering glass from local glass shop - $80 Roughly
Using the Poret Filter Foam I have now and just taking a couple layers out for skmmer and refugium

Thoughts on options? What would you do and why?

Looks like a freshwater filter box...

@Saltywaters what do you have in the display tank in terms of rock and sand? This may dictate how much biological filtration you need to worry about in the sump.

Just a note for you, you could always use Plexi from a Home Depot or Lowe's and just cut and snap it yourself. You would just have to RTV it in with reef safe RTV.
That's a great way to save money in this Hobby.

Or contact mark at meluvreef. He will custom make the baffles for you. That I’m my opinion will be the easiest no fuss routine.

if your looking for the most cost effective just run the sock around the return and call it a day. you don't need baffles

What is it supposed to accomplish? Are you bringing a brood of tilapia up to harvest size?
