Try adding more pvc to your plumbing to make it closer to bottom of sump.

i added another 4-5”, it’s about 3” off the bottom now? Also filter Sock doesn’t change it at all, just makes it bubble out different.

Interesting, are you running anything in the water? Like chemicals/products?

I’ve used fritz ACCR and fritz turbo start 900. Other than that I used reef pro mix salt, Bimini pink live sand and all real dry rock with aquascape putty

I do have carbon and zeolite bags in my sump, along with a filter pad and some bio balls, those little puzzle looking pieces are some kind of bio filter media I found on amazon but it was foaming well before I put all that stuff in there. Carbon and zeolite have been in there from the beginning though. I thought they would help clarify my water since it was taking so long to clear up at first

Yes is it a new tank? No need to run carbon from the start.

IMHO, the aquascape putty, will cause this type of foaming.
I used quite a bit of it too and all I’m 1 day. It was my first time to use it so I’m sure I used too much or did something wrong.

Why do you have a Tee on both pipes?
Because there are 2 overflows and 2 return lines
I have 1” overflow pipes coming out of tank that Tee into 1-/12” so I only have a single discharge line in my sump, looks better and less plumbing IMO. I’m new at all this though so if it’s wrong I’ll change it

Should I go ahead and do a water change you think? Been about a week

I’ve been scooping the foam out every few hours, in hopes whatever is making it happen is trapped in the foam lol. Going to do a 30-40 gallon change tomorrow and see if that helps
