Hi Smarter reefers than me,
I have a waterbox 7225 and am using the sump that came with the system. My tank has now been up and running for three months and I'm running out of room behind the control board. I can't even fit a waste container for my new trident. I do not have the ability to add a cabinet next to the tank. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to better use the space? Buy a new sump? Smaller reservoir (ATO)?
I am currently fighting algae and elevated phosphates. I added a phosphate reactor today. Fingers crossed. Nitrates 12. Phosphates 0.11.
Kindly,
Evan

I looks nice but if you need room you’ll probably want a smaller sump !

You could move electronics to the dry cabinet door, and knock out the control board from inside the stand… that looks like a second box framed out inside the cabinet, which isn’t a very efficient use of cabinet space!

What’s behind the control panel, Empty space?

If not, your only option is to build up. I’ve seen pics where people place their trident on a shelf at the top portion off the sump cabinet.

Better lighting under the cabinet would help to assist. How are the phosphates being removed?

That's a cool idea. The purpose of the control board was to have the items look neat and get them off the floor of my sump. Do you have a picture of what you're suggesting? I appreciate your input!

I put together this inexpensive cabinet so I could get all the electronics off the floor. There is now a trident on the bottom. I would like more space so I could have a trident waste container within this space.

Looks like you could put the roller beside the Skimmer . What about the basement ?
That's a great idea. I'm in Florida, so no basement for me, but I could definitely put the roller by the skimmer. How would I go about swapping my larger sump for a smaller one, though? My glass sump fits in there so tightly that I imagine I'd have to drain it, carefully break it, and then somehow slide a smaller one in — assuming I even could. There doesn't seem to be enough give in the cabinet to fit another sump in without assembling it inside the stand.

Split woven cable sleeving, plus careful wire management are the tricks to getting this both looking tidy, and having the cable bundles articulating smoothly as the door opens/closes!
