At first i thought this was celotape but closer inspection its silicone correct ?
Is this just to give extra fail safe or a little hole ? Or flexible hose slightly larger ?
I see no jubilee clip on red emergency drain just to point out to you so if that silicone ever dried out and you knocked flexible pipe as the red pipe slightly lower than middle pipe if flexible hose came off, water would go on your floor and not sump ( this is if main drain got blocked)
If all ok disregard.

Hmm… I adjusted both up a lot and although the sump isn’t over flowing at the moment (it is almost at the very top), little drips of water still keeps on coming out and going into the sump. I don’t know if it will stop

If you have it 1/2” below the water line, does the math work out to draining 8 gallons? On mine which is a 90. 1” would be about 3.5 gallons.
