Ive got a 20g tideline nano tank as well as a 13g tideline nano that im not using. I have this idea mostly out of boredom to turn the 13 into a sump for the 20g. I wont lie i absolutely hate the nano tanks. They are more trouble than they are worth and im figuring maybe the sump will help it out a little bit. I already have everything i would ever need to do this so its zero issues in any category as a test.

I have a HOB skimmer but that thing completely sucks. Was thinking about trying to find a normal skimmer i could put in the sump. Does anyone make one that small?

I think eshops and a few others make them for nanos.

Most skimmer producers make a nano version. For example, the icecap K1 nano, tunze comline nano, aquaready in-sump nano.... A skimmer footprint takes about 5" to 6" of square space, so the 13 gallon should be plenty of space IMO.

sounds like an interesting project, good luck, but you know what? nano tanks rock !! lol
