Hi!

My sump is under my stand like normal but not in a cabinet, it’s pretty exposed to the room. I live in a small apartment, tank being 220 gallons, and thus I was sometimes getting smells from the sump/skimmer. I didn’t want candles or diffusers.

I found bags of carbon for air purification on amazon. Hung four of them over my sump and blew a fan through the bags of carbon. Works amazing! No more sump or skimmer smells. Took two days to clear it. Even working in the sump area I don’t smell anything anymore, I’m very impressed.

Wanted to share if anyone is searching for that skimmer smell eliminator without covering it with “fresh linen”. :)

Very interesting idea. I use a Reef Octopus Auto Waste Collector for my Skimmer which includes a carbon chamber for anti-smell. I rarely smell anything from my sump area as a result.

Oh cool! I was looking at cup cleaners but all seemed expensive I guess, this was just 15$ fix haha
