Sump Tank

Alright, I have tried and tried with this sump tank that I was given with a 300 gallon acrylic tank.
Try after try and more try, it still has a slow leak somewhere.

That being said, I am going to purchase a new sump tank instead.
From what I have researched I need a 75 gallon sump tank set up.
Anyone have suggestions on where to purchase a new one??

Are you looking at a DIY one or a manufactured one?
All the reefing sites sell sumps. BRS, TSA, premium aquatics, aquarium specialty, etc... you can also search the Dry Goods for sale forum on this wonderful site!

I have the brs app and o have bought everything from them so far.

But from what I can see I need a 75 gallon sump and I couldn’t find that on BRS.

Yes a manufactured one.

New to the hobby so not sure which sites are good or not outside of brs.

These arent the exact dimensions of a 75g tank, but they'll work. I like the triton sump. I'm a fan of big open sections so you can use whatever equipment you want without spacing issues

Those are both good choices. Also, reef octopus makes some good sumps as well. You should also check out Bashea sumps. I have a brand new 36" Bashea Signature Series that I'm selling since I just bought a Reef Octopus sump to match my skimmer.

Quick note to OP:
BRS website has 20% off sale on Trigger Systems sumps right now.

For example, the 2 sumps mentioned in post# 5 are:
Sapphire CR44 for $546 (normally $682, allegedly)
Triton 44 V2 for $528 (normally $660, allegedly)

...not sure about planned budget so just a heads up

There's no set size on sump sizing - I would recommend as big as you can fit, wherever it is going.

Why? 1). Adding more water volume to the ecosystem is never bad IMO. 2). You have more room for things in the sump. Roller matt, skimmer, ATS, reactors, filter socks, the list goes on and on... but more room gives you more options.

Try craigslist and facebook marketplace for $ savings and ask seller to have water in it to assure leak free

I guess maybe I am putting more thought into this than I should.
I have read and heard that I need more space in my sump tank. This will be FOWLR so not worried about micro dosing but will have a refugium, protein skimmer, heater, and of course return pump. Both of those options will work for all of that. The only other issue that I can think of is should I lose power, I need enough space for the return line to empty and not overflow the sump.
