Sump to frag conversion

Hello Reefers

I am looking for some advice on converting standard Triton sump 43" x 20" x 18" to longer but shallower frag tank approx 12" so new dimensions will be 63" x 20" x 12".

Any prons/cons and suggestions for filtration placement, skimmer water level concern, heating and additional wavemakers position.
The existing/implemented ideas are more than welcome.

Still will be a sump with return pump, heaters and all media. Located under the tank.

a picture or diagram of your plan may help. My concerns would be lighting and flow. Lighting can be done, but the spread may cause nuisance algae growth in your sump which can become a nightmare. For flow, the one-way, low flow of the sump is unlikely to be conducive to sustainable coral growth.

For lighting, you could add "barn doors" to whatever fixture you use to prevent spread, photo below of what I've done in my display fuge for the same reason. For flow, you could add a powerhead down there, a small gyre at the bottom would probably work well.
