I bought a used Reefmat and would like to install it on my RSR 250 sump. It is NOT the new Reefmat 250. So I'll have to cut out some sump baffles to install it and also cut into my downflow pipe.
To finish the plumbing I'll have to use PVC glue on the downflow tube and have it cure.
Has anyone done this on a working sump?
Should I figure a way to route around the sump so I can do all the gluing and give it at least 24 hours to dry?
Has anyone done serious work on their sump live?
Whats the best way to route around the sump? Just turn off the return pump, put heaters inside the tank and go without filtration for 24 hours?
Continue to use the overflow into a bucket with the return pump?
I obviously don't want to kill anything with the glue chemicals while it's curing so ...

If you have a picture, it would help to see your situation :)

If you have flow in the tank? Place the heater in the tank and I would say you would be fine.

Lets see what others have to say.

I just set up a new Reefer 300 for my Dad, and installed a ReefMat 500. I had to cut the downflow pipe with a hacksaw because it comes almost all the way down to the bottom of the sump. No problems though. Made it much easier to connect the ReefMat in such a small sump.
