I'm also looking at replacing my sump with the Eshopps Refuge Sump. Looks pretty slick.
That's the one. Would you buy it again? Any issues?
I am considering 2 different sumps,
1. Simplicity sump 225ss
2. Eshopps rs200
Does anyone have any goods or bad on either. Let me know
Yeah I would. No issues. I love it. Super quiet with the way the design is. A perfect isolation to have a refugium and it basically will turn chaeto perfectly with the design. I love this sump. That's the one. Would you buy it again? Any issues?
My tank is 135 Gal, I will be running a reef octopus 150int. I want it to be quiet. It may help if you tell us how much room you have, what equipment you have, how much flow you want to put through the sump, and if you have any specific wants/needs.

I have an Eshopps R-200 for my 90g and like it so far. It has a few downsides that I've noticed.
The return pump chamber is in the back. It's impossible to see and very very difficult to reach. So hopefully you don't need to mess with your return pump very often.
There is a loud dripping noise from the filter sock. This isn't a big deal and was easy for me to fix but I was not expecting to have to fix it.
Ive also seen on reviews that the sump and the lid will start to bow after a few months/years. I haven't been using the sump long enough to experience this yet.
Good to know.I've had the sump for about a year and I haven't noticed anything about the lid. I know Eshopps has great warranty about their products. Now with the dripping noise I haven't heard it from mine and I agree with the pump being in the back. But I like that because it's closer to my overflow so my plumbing doesn't have to take up room in my stand.
What's the return chamber water level in these sumps? That could definitely be an issue for my Eheim pump.I have a r200 and it's setting in my closet for now where it's been since Christmas. My problem is I have the m1 vectra return pump and it won't fit very well in pump chamber and will most likely sucks air from low water level. I'm going to drill the pump chamber and add a bulkhead and put pump in skimmer section or externally mount it is have decided or I might sell it and get a trigger systems sump. I have a homemade one now but there's not much room for my skimmer since I wanted to grow chaeto in sump.
