One of my Hydor Koralia 1500 started to rattle after the last time I cleaned it and I should have a spare on hand, so I thought about getting another. However, I am dubious about getting the same powerhead. I have 5/8" glass and frankly, the magnet barely holds on. Numerous times they (I have four of these powerheads) have been bumped and fell to the bottom. I have since tied the cables off, so they do not land in the sandbed, but it is still a messy thing to happen. Just to be clear, the magenet is the only real issue I have with these powerheads, I use and have them in several other systems (with thinner glass of course). These are great powerheads otherwise.

Anyway, I found a pair of new SunSun 1300gph powerheads on Amazon for half the price of a single Koralia. These ones do not use magnets, but use suction cups. I have low expectations, but am hoping for the best.

There are very few posts around these powerheads and if they work well, then the price is right. If anyone cares to share their experience with these powerheads, please do. I will post up again once they arrive!

Had a Sunsun for mixing saltwater only and there were times that it ran on a reverse.
This will be terrible on a fish tank in my experience.

I have 2 sunsun jvp-110 530gph in my tank for me they work great. Super quiet the suction cups hold really well. You can also buy the magnet and swap out the suction cup. I paid like $13 for 2 of them I figured I'd give them a shot. If they didn't work well I was only out $13.

I Have had two sunsun 110's on my 20g, the reverse problem is real but I've found it only happens once in a blue moon after unplugging them. Can be corrected by unplugging and plugging back in. I trust mine to stay running 24/7 and for the price you can afford to replace it like 4 times before you even come close to another brand.

that being said.....

I would go with a jebao/Jecod if you want a budget solution for a larger tank
