Here are some pics of the zoas on my most wanted list.

not that i know of. there seems to be a good number of unamed PE types out there that havent made their way to zoaID yet. so we've been calling them "MPE", for Miscelanious People Eaters.

Just wondered. A guy here in Ohio has some and is wanting to 'name' them. Wanted to make sure they weren't already named by someone.

Surfn, posted this pic in the e-bay thread also but thought I'd post them here in case you didn't see them. Here are the pink sparkly palys you like. The picture is rather bad but was the best I could get with my camera. Let me know what you think:

No, got them from Bryan at www.purecaptive.com but I love the way yours look. What kind of lighting are they under and where in the tank do you have them positioned? I used to have mine in a different location but they started looking p*ssed so I moved them to where they are now which has better flow but less direct light :(

khuzong, they came on the frag with the speckled ones he's selling on his site but I'm not positive they are the same morph. They're both totally sweet morphs either way. What type of lighting are you keeping yours under? Where are they placed in your tank? What kind of flow do they seem to like? I ask this because I had to move mine to where they are now since they appeared unhappy with their previous location...I'm trying to figure out the best location for them now as they appear to be losing their color in their new spot.

IMO, i think all protopaly/zoa gigantus/people eater type polyps, will look best under 20k metal halide.

under bright 10-14k light they seem to fade out and speckle, and under PC's...well, they just look like crap (IMO of course  ).

i know the 20k bulbs dont look "natural", but if you have a dedicated zoanthid tank, and they all glow under that 20k bulb...who cares!!? :D

and the whole "lack of PAR" thing is a bunch of crap when pertaining to zoas (again IMO). i think my zoas grow faster under 15-20k than they did under 10k. they seemed more in shock under 10k, and all of the awesome colors faded away.

Hey, Eco, when you got your order from PureCaptive, did you get any of the grinch ones? Are they really named 'Grinch' or is that the pure captive name for them?
:)

Hi Laurie, no I didn't get the grinch ones but I think that is Bryans name for them :) They look to be red eagle eyes though I can't be positive. They look extremely bright in the picture!
