Survived a Craigslist buy...

Found what I thought was 125 gallon tank with stand for sale. Offered 100$ and they accepted. Went and when they(being about six guys) opened the door all I can smell was pot... get in and it’s a 55 gallon... got into a small argument over the size and decided to cut my losses. Offered them 80 and they loaded it and I left as quick as possible.

I had got a tank that was misrepresented as well.

My wife found a tank that someone had advertised at a 75 gallon and stand for free. I picked it up not realizing that it was a 55. I ended up giving it away and ordered a custom 90 gallon. My wife's excitement quickly turned into grief as the free tank has now cost over $2K!

Been there, done that my friend... I refuse to do a meet/greet at my house or another’s anymore... I understand its a tank and its impossible to see, but there are some wacky people out there these days...

My worst Craigslist experience was selling a chainsaw. Met in a grocery store parking lot, dude dressed like this with no shoes shows up and of course he tests the chainsaw. Revs it up, acts like he's cutting stuff down - got quite a few funny looks from people there to get groceries.
