Swannyson7's 180g mixed reef

Great looking tank! You should start a tank thread and show it off? I'd like to see some more pic's of your aquascaping...

Thank you, and you also BarbH :) I do kind of feel like an idiot though... I am terrible with these message boards, I read and read mostly. I saw the beginning of the thread (not noticing how long it was) and commented just after seeing your stand build... LOL. You have such a great tank. I could only hope to have mine half as nice as yours is some day. Mine is a new set up (about 3 months). So it's going though many changes and adjustments. I guess I could start a thread but I'll have to look up how to do that and where it will be best to do so. My aquascaping is a little unusual and my camera takes awful pictures...too much glare but I suppose I could tell about it ;)

Swanny - Long time man! Sorry to hear about the losses but your tank is still looking great! And i love the new Sohal. Congrats on the new leds too...im sure the pop is nice!
Yeah, long time no talk! How's things?

No worries, it happens to the best of us. I'm going to go check out your thread now! 1smile1

Yeah, long time no talk! How's things?

Things have been good lately. I went through a real rough patch last year around October and November. After a re-aquascape, my tank recycled and i lost alot of corals. My bonsai that was growing for years and my plate sized chalice bit the dust. My ph and salinity went haywire and then it was just a chain reaction of bad things. I was able to save my bam bams, my two blastos, my torch, cap, and hammer. Everything else unfortunately is gone. Right things are doing much better and stable. I have been staying away from buying corals. I recently had some peppermint shrimp destroy all my aiptasias and then gave then to my brother in law. It was awesome to see them all gone. Now, it is just regular algae clean up and keeping the tank stable. I now have 2 neon blue gobies, 2 yellow neon gobies, a midas blenny, and a rainford goby. My YWG and highfin wrasse are still doing great. I have been enjoying all the fish activity in the tank. I also have been keeping an eye out for a 24x24x30 93 gallon tank. I am thinking about visiting reef savvy and get a quote on a custom tank too. I gotta try to get some updated pics on my tank thread soon.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. I went through a bit of a rough patch and lost most of my zoas as well. I've never really been able to keep chalices happy, although I do have a OME and an Alien Eye that are doing well. If you're ever heading to the NE, shoot me a PM and I'll hook you up with some frags of what I've got left. And if you come across that big tank that you're looking for, be sure to start up a build thread!

A couple pics from this afternoon...
My PC sunset mille is starting to get some more orange in it now that it's growing out.

A UID acro from Wet Thumb Frags. I think it's an Acropora austera, but I'm not sure. Any thoughts?

And my efflo is slowly but surely coloring up:

WOW, nice tank!!! What skimmer are you running on it?
Thanks! I'm running an Octopus Extreme 200 with the pump upgraded from a Sicce PSK-2500 to a Bubble Blaster 3000.

Thank you. After seeing your tank, I'm just going to upgrade my Octopus 200 pump to bb3000 to. I was going to buy a bigger skimmer, but now I think I should just upgrade the pump. I have a 220g, so its not that much bigger then your tank.

Nice. Hey. Do you still have your LED light over your small frag tank? I have the same frag tank and I am considering a DYI led. If so, can you share the build list or perhaps where you bought it?

Man, I really enjoy seeing mature reefs. You know when corals are touching each other. :)

Can't wait to have a mature clownfish/anemone tank, hopefully in a year or two. :)

Perfect. Thank you. Are you happy with the growth and color in the frag tank? What lens and driver did you use?
