I’m really excited and a little nervous lol. I’ve had the Brain Freeze before. Got a nice piece from @FarmerTy a couple years ago and it was growing out nicely with no issues at all for about a year, until the sea hare apocalypse Broke my heart to lose all that growth but I’m optimistic that I can do it again. I am a lot more conscious of putting anything in the tank that doesn’t/shouldn’t belong, now.Oh I will be following along on this. Those are some pretty special pieces.
I'm enjoying your thread, makes me want to add to my collection. If you are ever selling any frags let me know, maybe we could meet up at a swap somewhere, i try to go to a few of the Ohio area swaps every year.Hello R2R’s,
I am starting this thread because I’ve slowly been acquiring some beautiful frags and I would like to attempt to document the acquisition as well as coral progression. Id like to share my pics here so they aren’t just sitting in my iPhone camera roll where no one sees them but me lol. Enjoy!

I’ll have to work on a sharper image of these guys...
Hi Joe462. I actually post frags for sale in the R2R forums quite often. I am in the process of trimming back some colonies to sell after New Years. You can keep an eye out or just PM me.I'm enjoying your thread, makes me want to add to my collection. Not the fastest grower for me either. How much par are you giving her? I get some crazy colors on mine with 450 par but I also use a much whiter spectrum than mostThis is one that I really can’t get a good shot of, with the DSLR. For some reason I can’t capture the colors that the eye sees without doing major photoshopping. Which I don’t like to do. So I’ve put a DSLR shot with an iPhone 11 Pro shot with orange and yellow filters to show the difference.

Purchased exactly 1 year ago. I have taken 2 frags from it. So it’s kind of a slow grower for me.
DSLR SHOT
IPhone shot. This is actually what your eye sees while the blues are on. I just can’t get those colors or “pop” with the DSLR.
Beautiful Charlie! And that looks closer to a full spectrum shot than mine. I don’t see anything attractive in mine in full spec. It really is incredible under blues though...Not the fastest grower for me either. How much par are you giving her? Just my iPhone X with a diy brown clip on filter. Hydra 52 hds @ rb, v, uv at 120, b 50, r &g at 20 and w at 27Beautiful Charlie! And that looks closer to a full spectrum shot than mine. I don’t see anything attractive in mine in full spec. It really is incredible under blues though...
What is that shot with?
I got it at 360-380. Blues at 85%, whites at 15% under good old fashion Ocean Revives!
That seems higher than most on the R&G tooJust my iPhone X with a diy brown clip on filter. Hydra 52 hds @ rb, v, uv at 120, b 50, r &g at 20 and w at 27

This was a no name piece I picked up about 8 months ago. He’s usually super hairy but I put his polyps in to show his beautiful skin.
This is another piece where the DSLR just doesn’t pick up the variation in colors well. Especially the blues. I’m really going to have to figure out how to accurately capture those. Opinions on this piece are encouraged : )

I used to do graduate photography before the reef tanks came along. So I’m pretty knowledgeable but not a master by any means. I use a Nikon D750 body w/ both 60mm & 90mm Nikon macro lenses. In my experience, Nikon bodies are just not as good at setting custom WB under reef lighting conditions as Canon is. I actually had to put a brown filter on my lense and then use spill over light from my fixture on my WB cards to get the custom setting to go over the standard range. It simply would not calibrate to the cards when they were held under water. What DSLR do you use? How are you shooting it?
Looks great Jesse. Looking happier then mineVivid Insanity
My buddy @coralbeauties banked this frag with me back in early October. It started encrusting and it’s getting some nice color. The skin is looking super healthy too. It’s only in about 270 PAR right now. Will probably move him up to 325 next week...
