Okay, all you do it yourselfers out there who have built your aquarium stands.

I have been trying to research this but quite frankly I'm sick of looking. I am going to order a Custom Aluminum T-Slot 80/20 Aquarium Stand but I an not going to pay what they want to cover it to make it look like a would stand.

Questions
¹ For those of you who have done this what brackets/hinges did you use and where did you get them?
² what material did you use to cover the T-Slot frame in that was saltwater resistant or what did you do to treat the wood?

Thank you for your advice, suggestions, and comments.

Honest question: Why do you want doors instead of panels? I’ve had 3 stands with doors and one without. I can honestly say, the one with panels was the easiest to work with. If I needed to get in, I pulled off the panel, slid it out of my way, did what I needed to, then put it back in place. The doors always seem to get in my way in one form or another. Just a thought.

I used 80/20 lift off hinges for my doors. The door panels are a composite aluminum covered with instant granite vinyl.

They slide into the t-slot slots. I got the panels while I was is Singapore from an acrylics shop. It's aluminum sandwhiching a polycarbonic or acrylic.

I've built a 3030 stand and I'm using Buttonfix to secure my top shelf and will be using them for the side sleeves too - they are magic.

I've been thinking about using hinges for an access panel, but with the buttons, you can easily pop off the panels and I think it will work for my case for the short term.
