I see it get asked a lot "What combination of T5 lights should I be using?" So I thought it'd be interesting to start a "Mega Thread" if you will, of peoples thoughts on what combination of T5 lights and their benefits.
This can pertain to both LED/T5 Hybrids as I see it get asked primarily of new users utilizing the Aquatic Life fixture; and to T5 fixture users.
I'll start out:
There are two combinations I recommend for the Aquatic Life fixture;
#1 (and the setup I'm currently running) would be 2 Blue+ and 2 Actinic (3 and 3 for the 6 bulb ATI, and 4 and 4 for the 8 bulb ATI)
#2 - 2 Blue+, 1 Coral+, and 1 Purple+ (3, 1, and 2 for the 6 bulb fixture, and 4, 2 and 2 for the 8 bulb fixture)
So what combination do you use?

Two Blue+, one AquaBlue Special, and one Purple+ along with two Kessil A360WEs (60% color). Chose this selection purely based on aesthetics (12kish look).

Edit: What led to your recommendations?

4 ATI Blue Plus
2 ATI Coral Plus
2 Giesemann Super Actinic

I also have 2 kessil 360s in the front of the tank.

I run 6 AI Sol Blues set at 10% white, 80% blue, and 85% royal blue with 4 ATI B+. My softies are at the bottom, LPS mid tank, and SPS mid and top all seem to enjoy it.

I have a 2-bulb Odyssea fixture while the tank is fowlr. An ATI fixture is on my wishlist for corals in the future. The bulbs it came with are white and blue actinic. I’ll change to ATI bulbs at some point. For those of you who use coral plus, purple and blue plus, what color is the tank? Very bluish?

I just switched from back to front Blue+, Actinic, Coral+, Blue+ TO Blue+, Actinic, Blue+, Actinic

It has taken some getting used to, mind you I do run 2 Kessil 160's and haven't adjusted the color on the kessils to make up for bulb change.

Attached is my kessil schedule and my T5's run from 11:30 AM - 7 PM

I've read a few threads that actually have the T5's come on for the long duration and have the LED's peak somewhere in the middle. I may try that at some point, or just extend my T5 schedule.

I use 4 blues , one coral plus & one purple. I don't have a preferred combination. I lack the experience for that . I just follow ati 's chart for a particular over all color
I liked the video's. I preferred the 5 & 7 colors.
