I just purchased the 48" aquatic life T5 Hybrid. I plan on using my black boxes. Im curious if anyone has done this before.
Following along as I've never seen it done. Very interested :)

Pretty sure the black box’s are too wide to fit between the t5s in stock form

Following. I believe the black boxes actually may fit perfectly between the t5’s without any need for hardware. But, of course if you bump or tilt them at all they could fall through. You could easily diy a solution with some L shaped aluminum, a drill, and some small nits and bolts

I was at my LFS this weekend and saw that they were doing this. I couldn’t tell if they were just resting the boxes on top or if they were actually mounted, but I’ve seen it done.

I just ran epoxy coated wire through the 'eyelets' of my CBBs and made wire loops to bolt down to the mounting holes on a T5 hybrid system. Wire's stiff enough to hold straight against the weight of the CBBs. I did have to take the cover off to rearrange the direction the eyelets were facing, but there was enough room in between a noopsyche T5 for the short side of a 165w 2009 circa CBB with about 3/8 of an inch on either side to spare.
