Recently someone told me 80W-T5's (60") are crap because they hold spectrum for a shorter period of time than the smaller bulbs. Completely disregarded this statement because the same person has made some ludicrous statements in the past.
I have six 80W T5's (B+,B+,C+,Actin,B+,B+) over my tank that were installed in May 2018. The bulbs have ran 6 hours a day in a canopy (retrofit) with 24/7 ventilation. Well, approaching the 10 month mark with these bulbs and I'm noticing some GHA starting to appearing. I run an ATS that produces a lot and PO4 is 0.00-0.01 and NO3 is 3-4PPM.
Is it possible this statement has some truth to it? Should I be changing these bulbs out sooner than 12 months?
