Hello everyone. I snagged this at a LFS this morning. Generic Acro label. This is at the store. I will take some better pictures once it's acclimated today.

It looks like an ORA Frogskin - that would be my guess. I have one in my tank (still a very small colony) but pictures I have seen of it large look very similar to yours. If that is what it is, great score! Your picture is kind of blurry and hard to tell, but if you get a better shot of some of the branches that would help a lot with the ID.

Here is a pic of a known ORA Frogskin Colony - if this is what yours looks like up close, then you might have an ID:

Acros can be nearly impossible to ID while still alive - all you are going to get without knowing the source of it is an educated guess.

It's not a ORA frogskin for sure. The branches are much too "thin" my frogskin never actually tabled like that. I don't know if I ever saw one that did. I agree it looks like it could be an Acropora Soli. But not 100% on that.

Thanks for looking into this. I haven't had time to shoot it better. It's not an ORA piece. It's a mariculture colony from Australia. It may be the same species but definitely not ORA. It doesn't seem to be branching as much either. I will try and get some pictures up soon. Everything was open yesterday afternoon so it appears to have acclimated well.
