Hi folks!

Thinking of picking up a Tailspot Benny for my 10 gallon tank and nothing else in terms of fish - reaching out to determine what typically is the diet for them. Of course, it depends on what the LFS feeds them, but the hope is that they like dry food, which in this case any recommendations to try would be appreciative of. I'm assuming the food will need to sink at the bottom and they wouldn't go to the surface.

Thanks!

I bought one a couple months back and got extremely worried as he was not eating any of the mysis or pellets I was feeding the rest of the tank. Turns out he self sustains off of diatoms/GHA and eating pods off the rocks. He is fat, and to say it bluntly takes huge poops so he is perfectly fine.

You might have better luck than me target feeding though. I tried feeding nori and he didnt like that either. Funny fish to watch though you should like him.

Mine eats everything. Meat (mysis, reef frenzy), ROE, TDO pellets, and everything else.

Only thing he doesn’t eat is the seaweed I put on the clip for the tang and coral beauty. He prefers to pick algae off the rocks instead.

Obligatory cute picture:

Thanks - LFS is out of stock of the Tailspot, but have ample of the Bicolor ones...I'm assuming other than the color variation they are the same fish type with same care.
