Taking fish from the wild?

Why is it legal for this man in the YouTube video below to take fish from the wild, while it is illegal in my state to do the same?

Every state has different regulations. States such as Hawaii, only certain fish can be caught in certain areas and some areas are completely closed to all types of fishing.

In a lot of states, if you have a fishing license you can take specific species of fish legally but there may be size restrictions that regulate further.

Very true! Here in Arizona, the rules differ even from lake to lake.

The video is from Australia. Totally different laws. The person in the video, even at one point mentions that one of the fish was undersized to take so he would be putting him back in the ocean, so is aware of the laws.
