Bought a ATS from taobao. One week plus it starts to form algae already. Not bad...

There is a way to take pic that makes your tank look as if you have a lot of corals.

Looks like the scrubber is like a net that the water flows down through?
Yes, it is. Just that it is pre-made by the manufacturer. It is plastic and looks a bit fragile, however, it works so far. I will test how long it can last.

One of the nicest tanks I have ever seen, easily. Any idea what par you are running/how high is your fixture off of the waters surface? What do you think made this tank so much nicer than your last?

Also, do you have all tonga branch rock? I'm curious how you have so many acros isolated but at the same time on the same level as the others? I can't imagine they all grew vertically together like that. Do you use some sort of pedastals to raise certain ones up?

Thanks and great job!

One of the best tanks I've seen! Love it!

Just wondering if you have link to which taobao ats you bought. Can't read Chinese and wondering if they ship to USA.

If you are staying in US, it's better off buying the Santa Monica ats as shipping from China to US could be costly and most likely breaking this plastic ats.

My par is about 250 to 550 from bottom to top. My light is about one palm length above the water surface. I think the key is the zeovit system as previously i used biopellet and more traditional system.

In terms of scaping, mostly branchy rocks and some small base rocks are glued together using epoxy. As I keep sps, I prefer to have flow in top and bottom of my tank.

I just randomly glue sps on the rocks and place them on wavemakers whenever I have space. I do trim the sps when they are growing too big as I prefer to keep them in moderate sizes so that I can collect more varieties.

The taobao ATS functions well enough. Algae has grown well on the wire mesh.

Let it run another week and see how thick the algae could get to grow.
