Tang in 42 inch long tank

I want a yellow tang for a tank I am going to set up soon and was wondering if that was long enough for a tang

It depends on the water volume. If the tank is a 42 inch cube it'll be fine

Get a small one and re home it in like 4-5 years if it out grows the tank

it really depends on the full dimensions of the tank, but tentatively I'd say yes. If you love tangs I'd definitely recommend larger tank if you can swing it!

It depends on total dimensions, rock scape and also your plans long term - both with fish stock and rehoming (1-3 years is generally how long it will take a yellow to outgrow most small-medium tanks).
