Only a couple of choices if you go either way.

The cube should be ok for a Foxface, but questionable for a Tang. I would only consider Tangs that get to 6-7" max (so basically look into the Ctenochaetus genus). Your tank is only 30" long, so this really does not give them much room to swim.

Ok, I'm going to try and make sure I have minimal rock work to allow swimming room. So if I get one of them they should be fine? I want to make them content with their home.

Yes, I would go with only one. And keep in mind that either will spend most of the day grazing, so minimal rockwork is not ideal. But swimming room is equally important...

Ok I think I will go with a fox face just because I think a tang would need more space than a foxface. Ok I'll try my best to give him a mixture of both.

Going to get flamed for this but I have a kole and a purple in a 75.

Setting up a 120 within a couple of weeks though.

A fox face will get pretty big and swim just as much as any tang. Anyone that says a fox face don't need plenty of room has never had one. My one spot out swims my kole and my powder blue. A 30" long tank might be enough for a small kole or a small fox face but I think they will outgrow the system .

30x30x24 inches

A small kole will be fine in there.

I have a 3.5"-4" Kole in a 36x18x21 57g. I find that tangs in the genus Ctenochaetus don't necessarily swim as much as other tangs. They get up close to the rocks and in tight spots and pick at things all day rather than doing laps and taking a bite here and there like other tangs.

A tang would be fine in that tank imo just buy it small and try to add it last if ya can,I'd recommend a kole, yellow or tominensis tang.

This is not my experience. My full grown Magnificent stays stationary most of the day. Once in a while it will dash from one side to the other. Meanwhile my Kole Tang is all over the tank all day long. Swims almost as much as my Powder Brown Tang.
