Mimic tang is a great choice! Super peaceful fish and they get such pretty deep colours as they get older, some even keep the yellow if you get a yellow mimic.
Tomini is nice small tang, most the time I'd only recommend 1 type of bristletooth as they get aggressive with each other!
Edit: I lied, I've seen massive tomini tangs, although uncommon in the aquarium industry, they can grow big.
I'd be careful of the lavender, hippo blue tang and maculeceps, Acanthurus are some of the harder species to keep due to the aggression and stress. Can be done and some people luck out, just be prepared. Maculeceps are pretty but I also thought they get pretty big. Guess is depends on O.Ps long term plans blue tangs do have a lot of character and are probably one of the hardier of the Acanthurus species in my experience. I would also say they can be big beautiful dumb manaces at times with big tempers, but none the less they can make for a good laugh lol. from laying sideways playing dead, chasing itself in the reflection, trying to be dominant, to tearing bubble corals apart because it didn't like the location of it lol. They are one crazy fish.
Yellow is like a staple and as I said earlier zebrasoma is I personally think hands down the easiest of the species to care for and get living in harmony
I would love to try the convict again, but my one has a complete A hole and had to remove the manaces
I'd say with high confidence even 3 zebrasoma all added at the same time would be your safest bet.
mixing up the species second best option being mindful of the Acanthurus.
If I could do it over again, I'd love to do a school of tangs and would just do one relatively small species. But to stay on topic do some research on zebrasoma you might even be able to get away with 2 plus a brisletooth. Or even 3 convicts might work well again convict tangs are Acanthurus so aggressive.
These fish also get territorial fast, so my little tip when adding new members or mixing up your current tangs. Move your rockscape around or create a new one, it will reduce the aggression whilst they tussle for territory. Once they settle in and find there spot, most tangs will be very protective and that equals aggression.
Now I'll add I am also countering myself here by saying the mimic is a peaceful fish in my experience, others may very. But again this is another acanthus species lol
Just do some research, this is directed at the O.P was just using your reply as something further to stem from and sharing my experience. Everyone's will differ
