So, my thought is that you really can keep just about any tang with another of the same species, given the proper accommodations. The most important thing is tank size. In my experience, it is always best to keep either 1 or 3, and not 2 of a particular species. I'm not sure where I learned that but my best guess is that adding the 2 extras, takes the animosity off of just having 2. I've also learned that it is easiest to have multiple tangs in a tank when they are all added at the same time. It is incredibly difficult to keep a new addition safe since tangs tend to be so territorial.
