I would like to start with a little bit of background on myself as relates to reef keeping. In 2007ish I worked for a small coral wholesaler close to Houston, TX. At this point I wanted no part in keeping a tank for my own. Shortly after working at the whole sale shop, my cousin acquired a 55gal tank in a trade and I helped him set it up. From that point on I have immersed myself in the hobby.

Enough about me, I want to share my current set up. I have a DSA 135gal it is 48” tall, 24”wide, and 27”tall. I’m running a mixed reef about 60/40 sps/lps and softies. This build is about 3 years old. I have 17 fish: 8 b/g chromis, 3 lyretail Anthias, a kole tang, 2 clowns, a red fire fish, a blue spotted watchman goby and a mandarin dragonette. My target parameters are 8.7 alk/440 Ca/1350 Mg.

Lighting: 3 black boxes. One Reef Radiance DM155e led, 1 Mars aqua and one SB Reef light 16” basic. They are sitting in a canopy about 9” off the water.

Flow: 2-RW15s and 1-RW8

Filtration: Trigger Sump with a refugium with grape culerpa. I have A D700 Coralbox Skimmer, and am using a Jebao DC1200 Return pump.

Other Equipment: I am using a Coralbox A100 top off with a 5.5gal reservoir. Also, I am using a DP4 Doser, and am currently only using three pumps. Im dosing BRS Alk and Ca, as well as Brightwell Replenish. I also have an auto feeder for the anthias.

Hey Micpeezy! Nice to see you here!!!
Shortly after working at the whole sale shop, my cousin acquired a 55gal tank in a trade and I helped him set it up. From that point on I have immersed myself in the hobby.
Yup! How it happens! You saw the good thing for you and you got it! Well done!
I have a DSA 135gal it is 48” tall, 24”wide, and 27”tall.
That's really good man! I like your set up!
And I like your pictures! Especially the second one!)

Do I know you??
All great tanks come from TX ;)
You're not that far from me, any connections with the Houston based club?

I do not have whole lot of affiliation with the local clubs except fb. Micah Pogue is my name.

I have seen that name.
And a friend of mine bought some corals from you a while back through FB

Im pretty active locally on FB but that is it. I am trying to get more locally involved. I do sell from time to time on Houston Coral Auction and Houston reef connection. I am waiting about two more weeks than am fragging again. I have a mystic sunset monti that grows at a ridiculous pace.

Awesome!
You know we have a reef current show coming up with great speakers, Michael Paletta, Tony Vargas and a third still to be announced.

Yes 03/19/16 same place and same time.
There's a guy in Katy that donated a LE SPS pack for the raffle  so make sure you buy some raffle tickets ;)
