It seems I am going for another back procedure so I can stop walking like a blue lagged hermit crab.

They are going to knock me out again to make a few small holes in my to inject my sacroiliac joint on both sides. I am not sure why they have to knock me out for this but I think it's because the needle is like 5" long and they don't want my screaming to scare the other patients.

I also have to drive 60 miles for this because none of these doctors are around the corner to me. When I used to live there, right on the New York City border, my doctors were out here 60 miles. Now I moved out here and my doctors are all there.

I have to get someone to drive me home because for some reason they won't allow you to drive after this. I can see that for some snowflake Sissy but after 33 surgeries, I think I can handle this minor thing. :anxious-face-with-sweat:

Thats the most important part of any therapy. It doesn't work, but who cares. :anguished-face:

Actually, if it makes you smile, it worked. The real issue is mind over matter.

I go for the Gusto.

When is surgery, my friend? I will send you my Guardian Angel

Is the main reason you are hot on diatom filters the silicate removal from natural sea water?
That's only one of the many good things the diatom filter would do ...some parasite removal, crystal clear water , etc just to name a few...I think they went out of style/use because hobbyists today are too lazy to operate them .
Paul B : since you're on long Island ..maybe you should talk to the folks @ Eugene Danner mfg (another dinosaur company) and see if you could do a "joint" venture with them redesigning an up to date and more user friendly version of the diatom filter...

SubSea, next week is my procedure.

Hot2na, that company is only a few miles from my home. I was going to go there anyway because on the box of the pumps they sell it reads "A Proud American Manufacturer" and right under that it reads "Made in China".

I don't like that. You can't be a "Proud American manufacturer" and make things elsewhere. It just doesn't compute.

Just now I see I have a dead fish stuck to a powerhead. I almost never see a dead fish. It was a file fish I have for a couple of years. I noticed yesterday that he was very fat. I didn't think he was pregnant because I never had a pregnant filefish although it isn't that odd to have one.

But I knew there was something wrong with him. Nothing contagious or anything a drug would be able to cure.

I did a necropolis just to see if it was eggs. It was not. But whatever killed him it was infected because although the fish just died and didn't stink, when I cut him open he really stunk so I knew it was an infection of some kind.

His organs were all rotted so I can't tell where it came from. But fish do sometimes get something we can't cure.

They probably make some here and get some made by the cheap chinese..no biggie to me...That company goes waaay back as i'm sure you know ...Supreme aquaking , 2 piston dynamaster ...etc I'm just glad to see them still in business...

It's a biggie to me because I also manufacture something and it is made in Florida. I don't think you should call yourself a proud American Manufacturer if you are not manufacturing here.. I specifically buy things if they say (and mean) Made in America.

They are right near here and after the holidays I am going there to see what is going on.

I have no idea. I am proud that I didn't have to go to college. I went to one to see if they would accept me. I told them I wanted some Wisdom. They told me I was wise enough. I think they actually said "Your already a Wise Guy" :p

Hey Paul, where do you recommend we buy your majano wand?
I think they have them on Amazon. I don't own the company as I gave it away. I just hold the patent and get royalties so I have nothing to do with selling, building them or anything else. I wanted to be their Spokes Model but they didn't think so. :grimacing-face:

Some of the sponsors on here may have them, but I have no idea.

Wow kudos, Paul!

I wish I still had my 180 from the 80’s.

I drilled it and set it up with 6 or 8 VHO and a 1/4hp chiller. Black egg crate is still pricey.

What was your first light system?

Probably a flashlight on a stick run by whale oil.

Not any more.

Last night we went to a nice Italian restaurant and I ordered the sea Bass. I love sea bass and it is a common fish here. I can catch them in back of my house. I had my mouth all set up for a nice fresh, juicy fish. It was a little pricey at $35.00 but for a good piece of fish, it's worth it.

The waitress brought it out and it was deep fried. It is sacrilege to take a good, flavorful piece of fish like that and ruin it by deep frying it. I could have gone to McDonalds and got their fried fish sandwich for like 3 bucks. Not going back there again.
