I did my morning walk this morning just as it got light enough. We got 5" of snow so it was fun. I just cleared the snow so we could get out, but I doubt we are going anywhere.

Wow! Untouched virgin snow is a gorgeous display to coincide with your birthday.

Paul,
The first time that I drove on snow was winter of 1967 on the flight line at Rhien/Main airbase outside Frankfurt, Germany. During a snowstorm which closed the airport, I practiced driving wheelies with the Follow Me truck.
I hope everyone had a great Christmas. We did, except my wife wasn't great but good enough so she could eat, kind of.

We have been going to her cousins for many years, and he went to Italy to take cooking classes, so we go there every Christmas Eve. We are Italian so the tradition is to have 7 different fishes on that day. He normally makes about 23 different seafoods. I don't think we had that many this year as he is a year older than I am and I was here when we invented dirt, but I guess he made about 15.

A bunch of desserts and of course my birthday Cake.

Paul,
My Christmas was great as I thought our banquet was also great, until I saw your Italian seafood banquet which surpassed great. Outstanding to see your large family.

Sub, I have been dealing with snow all my life and made a fortune snow plowing in the 70s.
This was a day in the 70s when we got 18" of snow on a Monday morning and it wasn't predicted. I made $1,800.00 that day. And that was about 1974.

I drove to Manhattan and plowed the highway all the way, abut 30 miles. All of Long Island followed me in. I parked on the sidewalk in front of the Chrysler building. No vehicles were moving because very few cars had 4 wheel drive. But I had a military Willys Jeep which would go through anything. After this picture, I installed big tires and 4 snow chains.

On my way back, I drove through the New York World's Fair grounds as no one was moving, including police. 😆

Every time it snowed made over a thousand dollars, cash.
We went to Bermuda the next week. 😎

I bought a 1986 Ramcharger in 1990 when I was still in High school, It had 4wd and a plow. I paid around $8000 for it which for a high school kid was a lot of money, on credit of course. The first winter I had it I paid it off by plowing and pulling people out of ditches. Best $8000 I ever spent?....lol

Glad you didnt get the 12"-18" some areas had predicted! Do you ever make seafood chowder from the feast leftovers the next day?
Whole fried cbb's would be tasty

No, but I do make a lot of Manhattan clam chowder. 😎

We also eat a lot of crabs but don't deep fry anything, especially copperbands, because I plan on living forever. 😬

After that Christmas Eve dinner, at 10:00 PM, we drove an hour to my daughter's house in Nyack, on the Hudson, right near the Tappan Zee Bridge.

This is her dock.

They do the meat, so she made a pork crown roast. We don't eat much meat, but I did taste it. I prefer seafood.

Mission accomplished, so far.

Hopefully they bring that name back!

It's not the snow; in winter, they remove the bottom 7 steps because they get destroyed.
I can still get down there, but it is a 5' drop and very hard to get up. I can't jump up 5'. 😬

You can see the metal stairs here to the left of the stairs,

And below, you can see the waves are breaking right at the bulkhead so there is no beach to walk on. The sand will come back in the spring. Hopefully.

Usually, there is much more beach to walk on.

Unfortunately, my wife is still in pain. It isn't any better as the shots don't seem to work any more so we are waiting for an appointment with the Gamma Knife neurologist. But before that, she has to go through some tests like MRI and all that.
