Unfortunately, my wife is still in pain. It isn't any better as the shots don't seem to work any more so we are waiting for an appointment with the Gamma Knife neurologist. But before that, she has to go through some tests like MRI and all that.
Sorry to hear that Paul, it must be a worry to you both. Fingers crossed she gets the surgery sooner rather than later.

This is terrible news. To think she has to wait to be seen for the MRI and whatever else only compounds the issue.

Is there not something she can take for pain relief, if only temporary?

I did a little research. Its correct me if I am wrong used not to treat MS but associated pain Trigeminal Neuralgia , and can eliminate it. Sounds really encouraging all the best. An MRI can pinpoint every single thing in your entire body very precise in case some don't know.

Unfortunately, no. This nerve pain with MS isn't treatable with drugs. She takes something for it but it is supposed to lessen the effects, but it dulls all your nerves so you can't walk. She can't walk already so she can't take too much of it. It also makes you want to die as it gives you depression and the MS also does that.

The MRI just tells the Gamma knife guy exactly where the nerve is so he can radiate it. She had t done many years ago and it lasted 3 years.

It is a large nerve that comes out of your skull just behind your ear and travels to your face. It controls your face and tongue as well as everything on that side of your face. If you don't have MS, there is a minor surgery for it. But it doesn't
work with MS. 🙄

Sorry to hear the shots didnt work. I hope they get all the testing/imagery done quickly and schedule the gamma soon. You wouldnt think the nerve could crawl off to a different spot in 3 years!!!

Will it be the same surgeon as last time?
He was very old and croaked. But his son took over so he does it now. His Father was the one who invented this procedure.

Brigit Bardot died. My favorite Babe when I was a kid. I had such a crush on her. But she wouldn't go out with me. 🙄 RIP

So, about a week ago I finished reading this "build thread". cover to cover. I feel like I just finished a novel. 15 years worth of tank history and people history. I feel like I know a lot of the people in this thread a bit. Even though you don't know me well. After a month and a half of reading all of your posts I am a little familiar. So, forgive me if I act familiar sometimes and joke around or whatever. I feel like I know a lot of you. It is amazing that a whole lot of people over the years in this thread are not around any longer. They stopped coming around to r2r over the years.
I just had to let everyone know this was a really good read. I am kind of disappointed I got caught up. 😂

I think you should read it again. Maybe you missed something around 2015 😎

I'm sorry most of those 11,533 posts are not about fish, but I bet 24 or 30 of them are. 😆

I would have something to write about fish if they got sick, but no matter how many diseases, most of which I have never heard of, I add, my fish just refuse to get sick. I even resorted to painting spots using an old can of "Sears Weather Beater paint" on the fins of the fish, but they just keep wearing off.

I tried cutting off parts of their fins, but they grow back faster than I could take a picture, so I have just resigned myself to having healthy, immune fish.

Maybe I will try feeding some flake food, that should do it. 🤮

I also keep going to Petco. I got 3 fish from them in the last couple of weeks, but even that doesn't work.

Some day in the distant future, we will all have immune fish but first we have to think a little harder and not go to too much college. 🧐

Your obviously doing something very wrong just like me Paul. Have you tried adding copper and other meds? They should make your fish very sick.

Atoll, this seems so easy, I don't know why there is so many diseases on fish, except for our tanks of course. I still feel it is all the quarantining, observing, and medicating along with the wrong food and aquascape.

I am an electrician, not a rocket scientist, so if I can do it, anyone can.
So many posts are about fish getting sick or dying in or during quarantine. Just look at the disease forum. It's ridiculous and obviously doesn't work and hasn't worked in 50 years, but so many still do it. 🙄

Maybe it's me, but I just don't get it.

I try not to visit the disease forum Paul. It's like something from the house of horrors.i think both Peter Cushing and Boris Kaloff run it in disguise. They are both masters of disguise 🥸 as you know.
Some people's places on here must look like this.

Happy new years Paul !

Question. Does your tomini tang get along with your sand goby? Mine bullied him relentlessly for weeks and I finally caught him. Mirror trick did not work sadly

Mike, Happy New Year. I got that Tomini tang as a baby a couple of years ago and now as an adult, I have never seen her bully or even speak to another fish. And I have many small gobies, bleenies, dragonettes and other fish

I hope everyone had a great New Year eve. We had a few people over even though my wife was in pain. Her pain is mostly in her face and if she doesn't really eat or speak, she is fine. Of course, that's tough at a party. We were going to cancel a few times over the last few days, but I figured it would improve her mood, and we had already ordered and paid for the food a week ago and also didn't want to screw up peoples New Year Eve plans because we planned this months ago. She is actually a "little" better now but still going for Gamma knife as this gets slightly better, then a lot worse every few days.

The people left about 1:00 am and all, including my wife, had a great time. We are all older now so there was no getting plastered, pole dancing, break dancing or doing the "worm". (gogle it)

Here is my living room before anyone came.

Some people who stayed to see the ball drop in NYC. My wife s at the left.

And me. I just wore the hat when people came in. Mostly for the Ladies. 🤣
