Do you think anyone knows what they are looking at in the last photo ?
No, not at all. CAD welding is done to attach large cables together or to a steel beam like I am doing here. That is how we connect ground cables when we want to make sure it won't come loose and if done correctly, you can't remove that cable as it is melted to the steel. It's different from regular welding so you don't need a special helmet or goggles.

You light the thing and close your eyes. 😬

I am holding the thing against the beam with a long steel rod because it's a block of carbon that you fill with the thermite and there is no way to hold it in place and of course, you can't get too close to it after you light it.

I had a big scare last night that almost gave me a heart attack. I was taking a shower, and I heard Dale scream louder than I have ever heard her scream.

I thought someone was killing her. I ran in there and she was in so much pain that she couldn't stand, breathe or move her mouth. I didn't know what to do. That horrible pain left her a few days ago and we hoped it would stay away at least for a few months.

I don't know what brought it on but we are waiting for a big blizzard today so maybe the drop in atmospheric pressure caused it. She said it was the worst she ever felt like the first time she got it years ago when I had to call an ambulance.

I quickly got her a pill that is for this pain but it takes hours to work, and it rarely works once you already have the pain.
I was going to call an ambulance but the pain started to abate. Now, Thank God, it's gone.

She was fine all day yesterday, this is so scary.

Oh dear, so sory to hear that Paul, at least her pain has subsided. Thank haven for little mercies. I hope here pain will now stay away. Must be so awful for you both 😔

It is Atoll. Very scary and there is a reason this pain is called "The Suicide Pain".

There is no way anyone can endure this for more than a few minutes.

The worst part is that there is no cure or even treatment that works for a reasonable amount of time. If you don't have MS, there is an operation that sometimes works, but not if you have MS.

Today, barring any medical issues I am going to get my generator rolled out and ready to go. We are expecting maybe 2' of snow.
I have 20 gallons of gas for my generator which should get me through a couple of days as I don't run it continuously. Only about 15 minutes an hour to keep the heat on.

I feel for you both Paul 😢

I’m sorry Paul. Hoping for the best for both of you, and hoping neither of us need the generator
Good luck with the storm everyone. I'm luckily on the edge of it by the looks of things. 🌨️

One sure way of avoiding power failures is to spend a lot of money on an automatic back up generator. I got one about 4 years ago, after a big wind storm that knocked things out for a while. Not to mention the other storms and the big 1991 ice storm 🥶

Power hasn't gone out since I got it...

Good Morning. 25 degrees and can't tell how much snow we have so far because I can't open my front door to get out. It looks like about 18" but there are huge drifts because t s very windy.

My lights blinked a couple of times and I hope the power stays on. It would take a lot of shoveling just to get to my generator and being it is in my garage, I would have to dig out a spot to put it outside.

My snow shovel is outside and covered in 2' of snow.
My biggest concern is that my wife stays pain free, especially today.
