I set up a 10 13.5 gallon tank with 10lbs dry rock and 10 lbs "live sand" from a bag. i added a dead shrimp 9 days ago. i have not seen any ammonia. Did the sand cycle tank, with no ammonia spike?

Due to this particular approach it's not about the spike it's about completing the wait time off a cycling chart to allow for natural bacteria acquisition

Time will complete these type cycles we have several on file here is one. Fish food or dead shrimp, doesn't matter this is testless cycling it can't fail.
On day thirty remove the shrimp change water for new it's cycled

If you want to be done faster simply add cycling bottle bac and all this moves up to day ten.

If you want sooner start than ten days, send me a message lol custom run

If you ever see in a cycling post the words testless cycling, cycling chart, wait time vs parameters or get a direct example link that shows the outcome your mode will produce, someone is pedaling updated cycling science

be warned: classic cyclers absolutely hate all terminology above and disavow all linked outcomes. like the nihilists on the big lebowski :)
