I have a 24g (I believe....) nano tank I bought used a few years back. It's currently empty as my main tank is a 50g cube, and I'm looking to move soon.

With the move, I'm looking at setting up the nano again, but I'm wanting some information if possible. The tank had no lid, no equipment in the AIO chambers, and I'm not sure of the make. Are their any defining characteristics to determine if it's a JBJ, Coralife, etc? Knowing would make things slightly easier for accessories, mainly a lid, moving forward.

Thanks in advance.

It’s likely an old JBJ Nanocube, it was the only 24g AiO tank. They are 28g now, but from what I understand the new 28g hoods should fit the old 24g tanks. That said the only hood that you can buy new is their most recent WiFi LED version. Of all the modern AiO tanks, it’s probably the best stock lighting, but its pretty expensive for what it is (~$250). I think you’d be better off getting something like an AI Prime and getting a mesh or glass lid at that price point.

I'd be looking at a custom lid, using an Artfully Acrylic on my 50. Probably just better off measuring the specs versus trying have a "stock" dimension lid built.

Did the JBJ have anything special or added into the sump/overflow area of the AIO or was it just 2 empty reservoirs essentially?

I actually don’t think that’s a Nanocube. It must be some off-brand AiO, the Nanocube never had that indentation on the back wall. You’ll need to fix that overflow, the hole is large enough that most fish (and inverts) you’d keep in a tank this size would be able to get through to the back chamber. But, I think if you give it a good cleaning with some vinegar it could be a pretty decent tank.

Yeah, I actually put a nano skimmer in the overflow to cover those broke fins.

Nothing identifying on the back or sides. Pics of the AIO portion, only 2 chambers.

I am going to clean the tank this weekend and start the cycle, should be quick since I'm using established rock from my own system, then it's deciding what direction I take it and how much from my 50 I keep for it or just sell those components and buy new......

Found out the manufacturer. Its a 24g Aquapod. Apparently they were a thing in the early to mid 2000's.
