how hard is it to put holes in your tank?

With the right tools...not very. Its all about the thickness of glass or acrylic, no pressure, water to keep heat down and not going to fast.

do they use hole saws like for concrete, carbide or diamound or is specialy for glass?

They have specialty ones for glass. You can order them online fairly reasonable.

Diamond tip hole saws for glass... Watch some YouTube videos I would build a dam with clay to hold the water in and drill it out... Pretty painless granted its not tempered that's a whole other story haha...
