I got my 135g tank ready, but still gathering equipment and wanted to hear your suggestions.

  1. Display Tank - 135 Gallons (36x36x24) 3 Sided Starphire Eurobraced
  2. Sump - 40 Gallon Breeder (36x18x16) with Frag Area + Mangroves/Chaeto
  3. Return Pump - Eheim 1262
  4. Filtration - TLF Reactors - NP Reducing Biopellets & Carbon
  5. Controller - RKL (PH + Temp + Wavemaker, Lights, Heater)
  6. CA/KH Addition -2 Part Cal + Alk
  7. ATO - Tunze Osmolator Universal 3155
  8. Lighting - LED & Powerbrites
  9. Photoperiod -LED on 8 hours a day + Powebrites 12 hours a day
  10. Water Circulation - 2 x MP40w & 2 x Koralia 1400 EVO on RKL wavemaker

The Eheim 1262 is about 900gph, I plan on doing a bean animal drain system w/ 1.5" drains and 1" returns. Is this enough flow returning to the tank? I like Eheims for the reliability and quietness.

I plan on getting two Koralia 1400 Evo's and running them on a wavemaker along with a vortech - this should provide enough flow for the tank along w/ the return? My plans are to keep SPS, LPS and zoas, predominately zoas & chalices, blastos and fungias.

As for lighting I'm looking into LEDs. I have not decided one which ones yet but am leaning toward the one Luke (Reef Filtration) offers. Any suggestions ?

mangroves may be a problem I would go with the chaeto.

Other then that everything seems fine to me.

For what that's worth.

how come mangroves are a problem? wana share you experience? I'm not planning to keep a DSB in the refugium/frag tank. I plan on just doing chaeto in a section and teh other section is a frag area in the sump

Some mangroves dont respond well to trimming...and you are trying to grow a tree underneath your aquarium. That would be the main problem with them.

thinking about adding a tunze wavebox to provide additional flow to the MP40 + 2 Koralia Evo 1400 (on RKL wavemaker) or should I just add one more MP40, any thoughts on the wavebox?

Ive seen some vids on them and seems pretty powerful but only thing I dont like about them is it makes the corals look like its swaying left to right as its dancing.

I would just go with another MP40. I don't care for the look of a wavebox in the tank

i now have two Mp40w. Should I make an upgrade for an Mp40wES? Thoughts on the new driver?
